Who is Crowthers Coaches?

We are an Australian, Family owned Coach Business based in Sydney Australia that started operating in 1926.

What Safety Standards do Crowthers abide by?

Crowthers Coaches operate according to the following requirements:

  • Transport for NSW Coach Operator Accreditation, audited on a regular basis.
  • All servicing is carried out by Mercedes Benz to the recommended service schedules.
  • Coaches are GPS tracked.
  • Coaches are cleaned and sanitized daily after use.

Crowthers Drivers operate according to the following standards:

  • Transport for NSW Coach Driver accreditation.
  • All drivers are monitored for speed and time.
  • All drivers have basic first aid training.
  • All drivers are chosen for their fun, friendly and professional manner.
  • All drivers are cleared to work with Children by the Federal Government
What will the coaches be like?

All Crowthers Coaches are modern Mercedes Benz with air conditioning, reclining fabric covered seats, seat belts, foot rests, curtains on the panoramic windows, two door access, restrooms and lowering devices to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable journey.

What should I consider when hiring a coach?

How do I make a booking?

You can request a quote online and we will respond ASAP or call us for a quick quote. If you are happy with the quote we can book the coach straight away and send you an emailed booking confirmation. Check out our online quote page.

How do I pay?

If you have a trading account with Crowthers Coaches then invoices are issued on the first Tuesday after we have finished looking after you and then you have 30 days from date of invoice to pay.

If you don’t have a trading account then full payment is required 72 hours prior to the time of departure and this can be done by credit card (2% surcharge) or EFT, details are available when booking.

We don’t make tentative bookings and we usually prefer not to take deposits.

Can I make changes to my booking?

Of course you can, it’s your day and the only thing we ask is that you give us as much notice as you can. Obviously some requests will be difficult to accommodate like date changes and may incur charges, but we will work with you.

What happens if I have to cancel my booking?

For cancellations up to 24 hours prior to the booked time of departure, providing we haven’t booked extra services like meals, accommodation etc. on your behalf and the tour duration is less than 3 days you are entitled to 100% refund within a few business days.

For bookings that include meals and accommodation or in excess of 3 days these will be considered on a case by case basis.

If you cancel less than 24 hours and before 3 hours prior to the booked time of departure you are entitled to 75% refund within a few business days.

If you cancel within 3 hours of the booked departure time or fail to cancel then unfortunately we cannot refund any monies as the coach is on the road.

What should I do about mobility issues?

Talk to us as we can accommodate most mobility issues and it’s easier to manage in advance than solve on the day.

Do I need to reconfirm the booking prior to departure?

Yes we always recommend calling us at least 24 hours prior to reconfirm just to double check everything is as you require as many bookings are made well in advance and things change.

Can I eat, drink or smoke on board?

No it’s against the law.

What facilities are available for babies travelling with the group?

We have one fixing point on a seat to which a baby capsule can attached, you need to bring your own capsule and let us know. Otherwise our seating is designed to accommodate children safely and comfortably.

Are there any luggage restrictions?

We ask you to limit your luggage to one bag weighing no more than 20kg and a small carry on (airline size) that can be stowed in the rack above the seat.

Handy Hints

Below is a list of hints that may enhance your experience.

Quotes are mostly based on time and distance so if you can have these to hand when requesting a quote you’ll get a more accurate quote in less time.

Street addresses are really helpful and help to minimise any ambiguity for the driver.

Give Crowthers the name and mobile phone number of one responsible person on board to confirm any ambiguities at the time of the hire or coordinate the pickup in a busy location.

Crowthers can prepare touring itineraries, book accommodation, meals and attractions, we have many interesting itineraries if you need some help.

If you hire a coach for a wedding or celebration we can arrange for you to have a DVD to play photos of the special person, also our coaches are equipped with microphones which can add a lot of fun retelling stories of the special person. Just let us know when booking.

We do have toilets available but to be honest they can be difficult to negotiate whilst on the road so realistically we say use them as a last resort and if you require a toilet equipped coach be sure to let us know.

Price is not the most important consideration when hiring a coach, its value.
